Loryssa is originally from California and received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Science from the University of California, Riverside in 2018. She previously researched the effects of various soil amendments on fly ash contaminated soils. Her research interests are in remediating and controlling anthropogenic soil contamination both from heavy metal and organic sources. She is particularly interested in applications of bioremediation.
