Jacob Gardner
Jacob is a doctoral candidate whose research focuses on sustainable and equitable water solutions. His current work seeks to optimize drinking water distribution networks to address the technical, managerial, and financial (TMF) capacity challenges faced by smaller drinking water systems. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Jacob completed a master’s degree in environmental science, where his thesis examined the water affordability implications of recently finalized federal drinking water regulations for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Ohio. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minor in humanitarian engineering, experiences that sparked and continue to shape his commitment to advancing access to safe and affordable drinking water across diverse communities
