Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

My research is dedicated to improving public health by mitigating the risks associated with foodborne pathogens and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I focus on developing novel antimicrobials, understanding antibiotic resistance mechanisms, advancing bacteriophage therapy, and conducting antibiotic resistance surveillance and epidemiological studies. Additionally, my work delves into microbiome and resistome analysis, antibiotic resistance throughout the food supply chain, and broader food safety and health challenges.
