Dr. Liu's research seeks to better understand the response of plants to climate variations and change, in particular the response to drought. By combining physically-based models and data-driven analytics, she has studied a variety of ecosystems including wetlands, forests and deserts, from a site to a continental scale. She is currently completing a postdoc at Stanford University, and will join the faculty of SES and the School of Environment and Natural Resources, along with the Sustainability Institute, in Fall 2021.
