The Presidential Fellowship is the most prestigious award given by the Graduate School to recognize the outstanding scholarly accomplishments and potential of graduate students entering the final phase of their dissertation research or terminal degree project.

Sarah's PhD dissertation is titled “Modeling microbial growth and release of microbial volatile organic compounds (mVOCs) in carpet and dust”. Her research aims to develop a framework to model microbial growth in carpet dust and understand the interactions of microbial growth and chemical emissions in the indoor environment. This will have important implications for understanding human exposures and health impacts due to microbial growth and chemicals.
